Polar fleece works by trapping warm air in thousands of tiny fibres — lightweight and breathable in a way that natural insulation can't match, and fast-drying enough to keep performing even when you're pushing hard. Most of the range sits as a mid layer between your base layer and outer layer, adding warmth and continuing to move moisture outward. Some pieces are substantial enough to serve as an outer layer on their own on milder days when a full waterproof isn't needed. Swazi has been building polar fleece since 1994 from 280gsm and 350gsm fabrics that are tough enough for the farm, warm enough for the high country and durable enough to go the distance without question.
The Hood is the most popular mid layer in the range — a 280gsm polar fleece hoodie with a long tail, extra-long chest zip and snug cuffs that works on the hill, at the hut and everywhere in between.
