Hunters know rain makes for silent stalking. It also demands a waterproof, windproof hunting jacket you can roll out when the bad weather rolls in - especially if you’re hunting for days on end.
Heavy’s no good on the hill, noisy won’t work either. Swazi's new Generation 4 Whisper Fabric gives you a huge advantage over all the old-school rainwear out there that rustles like a cellophane ski suit. Plus, the hood can be shaped to keep water off your face while maintaining peripheral vision.
Our new fabric comes with a bonus: stretch. It gives when you can’t. Like when you get hung up on brush – or twist for that tricky uphill shot – so you’re less likely to damage it, or yourself. Plus, a shorter outer ‘nap’ (that’s fuzz in Plain English) helps it shed water faster and dry quicker too.
Double-cuffed with water-resistant zips, the Tahr XP Anorak is made for doing vertical metres in horizontal rain.

Hunt high and dry.
The Tahr is designed to be waterproof, windproof, and breathable, ensuring you stay dry without sweating excessively. Its long scalloped tail efficiently directs water away from your legs, keeping your thighs and butt dry whether you're walking or sitting and glassing for game. The garment features an extra-long YKK water-resistant chest zip, allowing for easy on-and-off and effective temperature control. The storm flap enclosure prevents water and wind from sneaking through the zips, while the waistline can be cinched to block wind and rain from all directions. Additionally, the Tahr includes hand-warmer chest pockets with water-resistant zips for convenient storage. For easy transport, the Tahr can be rolled into its own hood, making it compact and portable.

The outer layer, or shell as it is sometimes known, has a big job to do. It is your best form of defence against wind, rain and snow. Choose a garment that will do all of the above, not just by fabric, but by DESIGN!
I can't quite believe how good the Tahr XP is! I spent a week on The Isle of Lewis in some really harsh conditions, a great deal of it lying face down in peat and water. The coat still looks like new and I remained completely dry. Amazing.

Excellent – suitable for petite women!
As a petite woman (1,60 meters tall) I was worried if I would ever find a smock that fits my small body size. I chose size S which allows me to wear a sweater and vest underneath. I use the smock both for hunting and walking my dog on rainy days, which keeps me perfectly dry and warm. The only thing I would change is the material/fit in the chin area as it keeps scratching my skin a little when not wearing a scarf. Also, the elastic around the waist hangs a lot lower due to my small size. None the less, I am very happy with the smock and would definitely recommend it to a friend!

The Gold Standard.
I'm tempted to leave it at that. Swazi have led the way in outdoor wear and I've finally decided to treat myself... "alright Sheila, keep your hair on!"... been allowed to treat myself to the top of the range, Swazi Tahr. I was so keen to receive the real McCoy I ordered it direct from Oz to ship to me in Blighty (UK) . The delivery was superb, tracked it online all the way and it arrived well packaged. The only problem I have now is, I love it so much I darent wear the thing... I stalk around the house and slip off to have a quick try on whenever I can. It feels pristine, the new stretch fabric is a major leap in tech in my opinion and the fact is, you know you're wearing reel quality. After the drubbing the Ozzies gave us in this years ashes, believe me, no one wanted to leave a bad review more than me, so that should speak volumes. 😁
Some people might think this isn't a serious enough review but all I can say is, outdoorsmen and survival experts around the world have given the Swazi Tahr their blessing and all the reviews about the seams, the fit, the materials are all true so no one really needs another endorsement from me. The best thing is, they're a down to earth company who look after people.

Hey Andrew, Just wanted to let you know we're actually Kiwi's, not Aussies, doesn't really matter, but we'll take the compliment anyway. Thanks for the awesome review!

Tahr very much!
Thank you indeed…
This is my go to “You’re not heading out into that shite, are you? Seriously?” garment. When you want your own personal tent to snuggle into and feel snug ‘n’ smug, whilst the elements rage all around and even the dog is thinking of heading for home!! Not too fancy, with two big basic outside pockets that will get wet along the bottom seam. Design flaw? Nope. These are where you will be stuffing wet hands, cuffs of sleeves, hats and gloves. These pockets are designed to deal with wet stuff. Hands up all who have spotted the tiny drain hole in the bottom corner? You see, those cunning little b****rs at Swazi have thought of everything! Hah! Massive front vent with just the right amount of Velcro (narrow, not wide and noisy) strip over the waterproof zip. Generous neoprene inner cuff, so you can wave to your companions and chuckle as the rain dribbles down into their armpits as they’re forced to wave back…Tough mate, should’ve bought a decent jacket straight off! Hah! (Again!) And as for the “legendary Swazi hood” that Big D is always banging on about. Well…he’s right! Excellent protection. Gorgeous periphy vision. Ridiculously easy clever little dangly bits to cinch it all up with one gloved hand. Be aware this is not a particularly warm garment, so if it’s cold I insist on giving myself a warm layer underneath. Little storm blowing through here the day after tomorrow with the Met Office forecasting winds at 32 knots gusting 57. If you spot a Tussock Green…

Survived the Scottish highlands
I bought the Tahr XP for deer stalking in the highlands of Schotland. A lot of real Schottish weather like a lot of horizontal rain. The tahr survived this extreme weather and I remained rather dry. After 6 hours of heavy rain the low end of the tahr as the sleeves got saturated.
